We’ve funded a range of projects to guide our roadmap for the future
Exploring requirements and technologies for a data centre API for federated data movement
Investigates data centre APIs for federated data movement through community surveys and landscape analysis.
This project aims to understand the landscape and requirements for moving data into, out of, and between digital research infrastructure. Within a larger aim of creating a general API for interacting with data centres and DRI sites, we will be focussing on the how data movement can be represented in a federated world. We will carry out a landscape review of current solutions, survey the various communities and then investigate a few specific technologies to assess their applicability with the aim of creating a proposal of what such a data centre API for data movement might look like.
