Call for Participants: HPC Training Event and DAFNI Facility Visit
As part of the NFCS-funded project “Enhancing HPC Adoption Through User-Centred Design: A Roadmap for Inclusive Innovation in Environment, Health, and the Built Environment,” the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) is organising a hands-on training event and facility visit at the Data & Analytics Facility for National Infrastructure (DAFNI).
Date: 28 May 2026
Location: DAFNI, OX11 0QX
This event aims to introduce researchers and practitioners to the potential of high-performance computing (HPC) for tackling complex challenges in areas such as health research, environmental sciences, and the built environment. HPC is increasingly critical for applications including digital twins, climate modelling, infrastructure resilience, and large-scale data analysis.
The training event will provide participants with an opportunity to:
- Learn how HPC infrastructure can support advanced research and innovation.
- Explore workflows for working with large datasets, modelling, and simulations.
- Engage with experts in advanced research computing.
- Visit the DAFNI facility and learn about its capabilities for infrastructure modelling and analysis.
We welcome expressions of interest from researchers, industry professionals, and policy stakeholders working in the health, environmental sciences, and built environment sectors.
